Elska | Huntsville Pet Photographer

It had been barely a week since saying goodbye to my sweet girl. I wasn’t sure how it would go. As in, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it through without tears. Truth be told, I wasn’t even sure if I could hold the camera. I was grateful that Elska’s owner was a friend that I had met through animal rescue work, and I knew she would understand. When I arrived and met Elska for the first time, her sweet, calm spirit and soulful eyes melted my heart and I knew this was going to be beautiful.

The location in South Huntsville was just dreamy. The light was perfect, the birds were singing, and much to Elska’s delight, the squirrels were playfully scampering from tree to tree. We simply had to place her where we wanted, and wait for a squirrel to catch her attention.

I couldn’t have asked for a better subject to ease back into my passion. Its like Elska knew what I had been through, and through her sweet spirit she helped heal a little piece of my heart. Dogs are great like that.

So sorry for your loss. Losing our fur babies is so difficult. I’m sure shooting another pup was tough, but you did a great job. Elska looks beautiful. Great work!
